The Challenge
A film catalog is only worth having if you can find anything in it, and a community around it only works if moderation keeps pace with the people posting. Both problems get harder with every title and every member added.
The Solution
We put Typesense in front of the catalog for instant search, moved the heavy work of imports, notifications and mail onto background queues, and gave moderators a dedicated admin panel with real queues instead of database access. The API, web app and admin panel share one set of typed contracts, so a schema change surfaces at compile time rather than in production.
